PROJECT: Healthcare

INSTALLING 10 HAND WASHING FACILITIES IN HEALTHCARE CENTRES

Background

The newly installed hand washing facilities are in Zambia, where Platinum Foundation has sponsored over 150 children.

Objective

The objective of installing handwashing facilities into Healthcare Centres is to give staff and civilians the opportunity to practise good hygiene, which is critical to ensure that healthcare staff provide quality care, reduce the spread of infections, and protect the health of communities. Failure to observe hygiene protocol impedes the delivery of safe services, increases the likelihood of healthcare-associated infections and allows antibiotic-resistant bacteria to spread.

PROJECT PARTNER

World Vision is our project partner for this project. World Vision is an international community development organisation that has been engaging people to work towards eliminating poverty and its causes for six decades. World Vision provides short- and long-term assistance for 100 million people worldwide. Through relief and development, policy, advocacy and change, collaboration, education about poverty, and emphasis on personal growth, social justice and spiritual values, World Vision works with people of all cultures, faiths and backgrounds to achieve transformation. The overall vision is to give communities a ‘hand up’ not a ‘hand out’ by resourcing and upskilling the community to develop itself and be self-sufficient once World Vision exits the area
