PROJECT: Water

BUILDING 2 NEW BOREHOLES IN ZAMBIA

Only 35% of people in the community of Chikomeni Zambia have access to clean and safe drinking water.
BACKGROUND

These 2 boreholes are in Chikomeni Zambia, where Platinum Foundation has 150 children sponsored in this community.

OBJECTIVE

The objective of building these boreholes is to give people in the community of Chikomeni access to safe and clean drinking water. At the moment only 35% of people have access and we want to keep increasing this number.

PROJECT PARTNER

World Vision is our project partner for this project.  World Vision is an international community development organisation that has been engaging people to work towards eliminating poverty and its causes for six decades. World Vision provides short- and long-term assistance for 100 million people worldwide. Through relief and development, policy, advocacy and change, collaboration, education about poverty, and emphasis on personal growth, social justice and spiritual values, World Vision works with people of all cultures, faiths and backgrounds to achieve transformation. 2 million people are reached with clean water every year through World Vision. That’s one new person every 30 seconds. World Vision is the largest non-government provider of clean water in the developing world. The overall vision is to give communities a ‘hand up’ not a ‘hand out’ by resourcing and upskilling the community to develop itself and be self-sufficient once World Vision exits the area.

ACHIEVEMENT SO FAR

The project was financed and commissioned in June 2018. We are awaiting the final completion of the project.
