Meet The Team

Josh believes he was put on this Earth to help those less fortunate – and that is exactly what he has been doing. Joshua and his beautiful wife Alana established the Platinum Foundation in 2014 with a strong conviction that businesses have a responsibility to be generous and giving. Alongside working to make a change, Josh is also super passionate about helping people grow themselves and their businesses. Josh started Platinum Electricians at the ripe old age of 22 and has since welcomed franchisees to join in the growth and success of Platinum. You won’t see Josh doing anything but trying to help others live the best life they can. Wait, you will probably see him cycling around as well BUT when he is off his bike, he is living every day to give back and help those in need.

Alana is a woman of MANY talents. Being the Executive Brand Manager of Platinum Electricians and the General Manager of Platinum Foundation, she brings a world of knowledge, creative wisdom and inspirational values to everything she does. Seeing people find their best fit and THRIVE is her greatest passion. If Alana isn’t spending time with her hubby, Josh, and three gorgeous kids, she will be out enjoying the sun, loving the beach, sun-baking away. But, like all of us, she does love a good Netflix binge every now and then. Seeing firsthand the power and impact that can be made through a collective of people is just one of the things Alana loves most about the Platinum Foundation. Her passion, drive and generous nature makes the Foundation what it is, and having Alana apart of the team will ensure a huge future ahead for the Platinum Foundation.

Karla (the HOF – Head of Finance) is Platinum’s wonder woman! And now we have the privilege of having her on the Foundation team as well. Karla is Platinum’s DAY 1, she started with Josh all the way back in 2009, and LOVED the idea of being a part of the Foundation and contributing to Platinum’s WHY coming to life. She has three wonderful children to her high school sweetheart (ADORABLE), so in between being a rockstar mum and the HOF, you might find Karla at the gym wurkin’ it – enjoying her ‘me time’. She is an asset to our team and can’t wait to see the change and exciting things coming up in the Foundation.

Len is our numbers KING! His Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Accounting) and qualifications to be a member of ‘Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia & NZ’ certainly don’t go unnoticed. As well as numbers, Len is fanatic about sport. He loves ALL sports, especially Rugby League, Soccer, Cricket, well yeah… ALL sports. His family is his greatest passion, his wife and three awesome kids. Family time, Christmas and summer vacations are an essential for this numbers ninja. Being a Foundation board member, Len loves being a part of a collective that is able to dive in and help provide basic every day needs to those IN need. Being able to assist others in whatever way we can, no matter how small or big.

John is another of Platinum’s electrical genius’s! He was one of the first to join the Platinum Family back in 2011 as the Franchise Owner of Platinum Electricians Gippsland. Since joining the Family, John has become a HUGE part of the giving side through our OVOC initiative, projects, field trips and now as a board member of the Foundation – a real ‘OG’. He has two beautiful girls, and loves to work out at the gym, play golf and surf (not all at the same time obviously). Giving to those in need is a part of his every day life, and he feels a mandate to make a change. He loves to be the social butterfly and meet all different people inside the charities and organisations that the Foundation partners with, forming relationships here there and everywhere! John brings a lot to the table and it’s a privilege to have him on the team!

Ken is a buddying bike rider/electrician with a passion to make a change. With a world of electrical qualifications up his sleeve, Ken joined the Platinum Family in 2011 as the Franchise Owner of Platinum Electricians Ipswich. Ken and his wife Tracey have been generously sponsoring children for many years, so for Ken, becoming a Platinum Foundation Board Member was a no brainer. He has had the fulfilling experience of visiting his sponsored children in Zambia twice with the Platinum team, and just can not wait to continue meeting children from all over the World. Ken bringing his experience and passion to the Foundation, it can only ensure the continuation of fantastic change.

Electrical, solar, you name it – Jeff has a successful and extensive background in it all. He brought all of his skills and knowledge to Platinum in 2013 when he became the Franchise Owner of Platinum Electricians Rockhampton. Not only did he bring his electrical background, but his passion to build a business that provides an opportunity for young people in need. Amazing right?! From his life changing experience in Zambia with the Platinum team, to becoming a member of the Foundation board, Jeff has down right been able to see his vision come to life. With Jeff and his wife Kate sharing the same passion, vision and goals, they are unstoppable, and bring a motivating energy to our team.

John’s greatest passion is helping people. From being trained as a naturopath, massage therapist, homeopath and osteopath and working in these professions for over 20 years, to being a church pastor for 23 years, John is clearly an all round amazing GIVER. Having John as a part of the Foundation board is just a blessing! John has been married to his wife, Cat, for over 40 years and they have three wonderful children (well they are all adults now!). Fishing, hunting, surfing, knife making, leatherwork – these are all MAJOR hobbies of John’s. Seriously – if John isn’t overseas or dedicating his time to helping others, please take note of all of the above hobbies because that’s what he will be doing. Having his passion align with the WHY behind the Foundation is what John loves most about being a part of our board – and we love it just as much!

Dan LOVES being able to make a difference and help others – so basically he’s another perfect addition to our Foundation board! For the past 14 years, Dan has been fulfilling his passion to help others with his role as a pastor. But before that, he was actually a carpenter, so gets along mighty fine with our other ‘tradies’ throughout the board. With his gorgeous wife, three amazing kiddies, two guinea pigs and bird Jerry, Dan is quite a family man! Although when he does have some ‘me’ time, you could find him enjoying some fly fishing, riding his motorbike or maybe even surfing. With his passion to help others and his need to make a change, Dan is able to bring his drive to the Foundation and make magic happen!

Paul has a wealth of knowledge, experience and skills up his sleeve that we are very lucky to have in our team! A Bachelor of Business Economics and a Master of Business Administration just to name a few. He is a family man, with a wonderful wife and five children – yes five! Apart from being an awesome dad, Paul LOVES guns, loud bikes, utes, hunting, I think you get the hint. “Maybe I should’ve been born in Texas” he says, but lucky he’s here with us in Australia and apart of our Foundation board! Seeing success through achieving goals inspires Paul and encourages him to be apart of the Foundation to successfully achieve our goal of making a change!
